Both endings work
An AIFF file ends in .aiff or .aif. Both are accepted. Both hold uncompressed sound, which is why they are big.
The first time takes a little longer
AIFF is opened by a helper that the page downloads once, the first time you use it. A file converted in under 30 seconds in our test, including that download. The MP3 is made at "Very good" unless you pick another quality.
Keep the AIFF for editing
