A FreeConvert alternative that never uploads your file
FreeConvert uploads every file to its servers and caps free files at 1 GB. Here the work happens on your own computer, so a 2 GB video starts straight away and never leaves it.

- No watermark
- Free

Quick answer: To compress or convert a video without uploading it, drop the file into the tool at the top of this page and press "Compress video". iLoveAudioVideo does the work in your browser, so the file is never uploaded. It is free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no file size limit.

How it works
- Drop your videoMP4, MOV, WEBM or MKV, any size. It stays on your computer.
- Choose how"Smaller, same look" for a big saving without visible loss, or an exact size such as 10 MB. You see the result before you start.
- DownloadPreview the result, then save it. Exact sizes are checked before you download.
What changes when nothing is uploaded
- No size cap: the largest video we tested was a 2.35 GB, 10-minute 4K film.
- No upload wait: work starts the moment you drop the file, and there is no download queue.
- Private: the file stays on your computer, so there is nothing to delete from a server afterwards.

Why your video never leaves your computer
Online video tools upload your file to their servers, process it there, and send it back. That is slow for big videos and costs them money for every minute, so free plans cap your file size or add watermarks, and your video sits on someone else's computer.
Here your own computer does the work, inside this tab. Nothing is uploaded, so there is nothing to cap: no file size limit, no daily limit and no watermark.
