Quick answer: To extract frames from a video, drop it into the tool at the top of this page, choose a picture every few seconds or a set number of pictures, and press "Get pictures". You get the pictures as JPG or PNG files in one ZIP. To save one picture, pause the video and press "Save the current picture". It happens in your browser, so the video is never uploaded. It is free, with no sign-up and no watermark.

How it works
- Drop your videoMP4, MOV, WEBM or MKV, any length. It stays on your computer.
- Choose the picturesOne every few seconds, or a set number spread over the video. Set a start and end to use only part of it.
- Download the ZIPJPG or PNG files in one ZIP. Or pause the player and save a single picture.
Every few seconds, or a set number
Choose "Every few seconds" to take a picture at regular gaps, for example every 5 seconds to see a presentation slide by slide. Choose "A set number" to take, say, 20 pictures spread evenly over the video. One run makes up to 300 pictures; for more, take a part at a time.
JPG or PNG
JPG files are small, which suits a contact sheet, a storyboard or many pictures at once. PNG files are bigger and keep every detail exactly, which suits a single sharp still or a screenshot with text. A run of many large PNG pictures can be more than the browser can hold; if the tool says so, take fewer or use JPG.
One exact frame
Play the video above, pause on the moment you want and press "Save the current picture". You get the frame you see, with no ZIP. If the moment is wrong, play on or drag the bar and pause again.
