Quick answer: To transcribe a Discord voice message, drop the file into the tool at the top of this page and choose the spoken language. iLoveAudioVideo turns the speech into text on your own device, so the recording is never uploaded. It is free with no sign-up, and you can copy the text or download it as TXT, SRT or VTT.

How it works
- Get the voice-message.ogg fileThe computer-browser instructions below explain how to save the attachment.
- Choose the voice memo and languageDrop the saved .ogg above and select the language you hear in the message.
- Check and keep the transcriptListen back to unclear words, edit the text and copy it or download a TXT file.
Save the voice message from Discord
Discord has no download button for voice messages. On a computer, open Discord in a browser and go to the channel or DM containing the message.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+I on Windows or Chromebook, or Cmd+Option+I on Mac.
- In Elements, press Ctrl+F (Cmd+F on Mac) and search for voice-message.ogg. Alternatively, look in the Network tab while playing the voice message.
- Copy the attachment link, open it in a new tab and save the file to your computer.
There is no reliable way to save these voice messages on a phone. Use a computer for this step, then choose the saved file above.
From voice memo to a usable transcript
Use the original attachment, without converting to MP3 first. This page reads the saved recording; a link to the Discord channel or message is not enough.
Choose the language spoken in the memo before starting. Review names, usernames and gaming terms against the sound: speech recognition can mishear them, especially when there is background noise. You can edit the transcript before copying it into a reply.
A file you control, without a transcription bot
The recording is processed in this browser tab. No bot needs access to the channel, and you do not share a Discord login with this site. Save only recordings you are allowed to keep, and consider the sender before passing their words on.
If you want to listen outside Discord rather than read, use Discord voice message to MP3. A transcript preserves recognized words, not the sender’s tone or the original sound.
Measured, not promised
Results from our benchmark on clear, read English speech. Noisy audio, heavy accents and crosstalk give more errors. See the full benchmark.
Why your file never leaves your computer
Your recording is transcribed by your own computer, inside this tab, and never uploaded. That is why there is no daily cap and no length limit. How it works.
