Quick answer: To rotate a video, drop it into the tool at the top of this page, choose Turn right, Turn left or Turn upside down (or a flip), and press "Turn video". Many videos are turned in a moment with no loss of quality, or you can have the picture itself re-made. It happens in your browser, so the video is never uploaded. It is free, with no sign-up and no watermark.

How it works
- Drop your videoMP4, MOV, WEBM or MKV. It stays on your computer.

- Turn and downloadYou get an MP4 that shows the right way up.
Two ways to turn a video
A quarter or half turn can be done two ways, and the tool tells you which one it used:
- Marked as turned (quick). The picture is not touched. The file is only labelled "show this turned", like turning a photo in a gallery. It is done in a moment, with no loss of quality. Nearly every player shows it right, but a few older ones ignore the label and show the video sideways again.
- Picture re-made. Tick "Turn the picture itself" and every picture is turned and saved again. It takes longer, but it looks right in every player.
Flips (mirror images) always re-make the picture, because a label cannot mirror it.
Why a phone video plays sideways
A phone records the picture the same way up every time and notes down how you were holding it. Some editors, websites and players ignore that note, so the video appears on its side. Turning it fixes the file itself. If you want a different shape rather than a turn, such as a vertical clip for Reels, use resize video.
Flip: when a mirror image helps
Flip left to right mirrors the picture, which helps with a selfie that came out reversed or with lettering that reads backwards. Flip top to bottom turns the picture over like a reflection in a lake. Neither changes the sound.
Measured, not promised

Why your video never leaves your computer
Your video is processed by your own computer, inside this tab, and never uploaded. That is why there is no size limit and no watermark. How it works.
Questions
Will rotating lower the quality?
Not when the turn is only marked: the picture is not re-made. If you ask for the picture to be re-made, or you flip it, every picture is saved again at a high quality setting.
The video is still sideways in my player after rotating. Why?
A few older players ignore the "turned" label. Tick "Turn the picture itself" and try again; then every player shows it right.
Can I rotate by any angle?
No, only quarter turns, a half turn and flips.
Is my video uploaded?
No. It is processed inside this browser tab and saved straight back to your computer.
