How it works

  1. Drop your audio fileMP3, M4A, FLAC, OGG and more. It stays on your computer.
  2. ConvertThe sound is unpacked into a WAV file, with nothing added or changed.
  3. Download the WAVOpens in every audio editor, sampler and recording app.

It will not sound better, and that is fine

A WAV made from an MP3 sounds exactly like the MP3: detail the MP3 left out cannot come back. What you gain is a file every editor opens directly, with nothing lost along the way.

Expect a much bigger file

WAV stores the sound uncompressed, so it takes about 10–12 MB per minute of stereo sound. A four-minute song that was 6 MB as an MP3 becomes about 42 MB.

Other files to WAV

The same tool turns M4A, FLAC and OGG files into WAV, and takes the sound from a video, too.

Why your audio never leaves your computer

Online converters upload your file to their servers, convert it there and send it back. That is slow for long recordings, so free plans cap the length or the number of files, and your recording sits on someone else's computer.

Here your own computer does the work, inside this tab. Nothing is uploaded, so there is nothing to cap: no length limit, no daily limit and no sign-up.
